Join your neighbors and learn the latest in crime prevention during this years National Night Out Against Crime event, being held Tuesday, Aug. 4, at McCollum Park. Sponsored by the Snohomish County Executive Office, the annual event will feature free food, face painting, games and more, including a fly-in of the Snohomish County Sheriff helicopter weather permitting. More importantly, participants can find out what efforts Snohomish County and other fire and law enforcement agencies are making to prevent crime and protect property. "This unique event combines general safety information with community fun," said Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCollum Pioneer Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. More than 2,000 people attended last years Night Out at McCollum Park. This years event features the Snohomish County Fire Marshal's new arson dog "Topper", who will demonstrate his fire investigation skills. Music on the main stage will be provided by The Resonators. Children also can meet the Always Ready "Ready Rex" and Community Transits "Oxygene." The Aug. 4 event hosted at McCollum Park is made possible through partnerships with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, Mill Creek Police Department, Farmer's Insurance, SnoCope Federal Credit Union, Mill Creek Lion's Club and more.
